Then, welcome to Ballyknocken Cookery School, House and Farm, home to Ireland’s celebrated Daytime Emmy-nominated TV chef and award-winning food writer, Catherine Fulvio. Steeped in history, Ballyknocken House and Farmlands have been a part of Catherine’s family (the Byrnes) for generations, with official records connecting them to Wicklow land as far back as the 1600s.
Rooted in lush, green landscape at the foothills of the Wicklow Mountains; during the famine years, Ballyknocken House was a designated “Soup Pot” site (where soup was prepared in large cast iron vessels and served to the local community).
At the very heart of this Irish Farm lies Ballyknocken Cookery School, our award winning cookery school that offers fun and interactive workshops, showcasing local, seasonal produce and based on recipes perfected by the Byrne family over generations. We are ideally located a mere 47 KM from Dublin City Centre in Ashford, Co Wicklow in the garden of Ireland.

Milking Parlour Rental
Our Milking Parlour self catering apartment is available for a minimum of 3 nights or weekly holiday rental and is ideal for a small family or friends of up to 6 people. Our guests are welcome to enjoy and use our wonderfully scented herb garden that is overlooked by the Juliet balcony in the apartment living room.
There are fantastic gardens to explore and enjoy on-site and nearby. Our guests have direct access at the back of the Farmhouse to the majestic Carrick Forest for walks and hikes. We are close to Glendalough, Powerscourt, Mount Usher Gardens and Brittas Bay to name but a few. We are only 47 KM from Dublin.

Can I make changes if I need to?
Yes. We will work with you to ensure your party is just as you want it if you find you have to make changes there are usually no problems as long as we have enough notice.
Can you cater for specific dietary requirements?
Our public classes cannot take into account individuals’ dietary requirements. For private groups, We can amend recipes where possible to suit dietary requirements or food allergies once we have been given enough notice and information.
Can you cater for any group size?
Is it possible to just book an activity/accommodation?
Yes. We offer both together or separately. No matter what you have in mind contact us and we will be sure to see what we can do.
